My response is that what we lose in clear-cut explanations, we gain in possibilities, so the notion that the objections that Ehrman has presented are serious problems for the veracity of the text is just not true; plausible possibilities exist besides the one he endorses.<br /><br />Ever since Julius Africanus, Christians have discussed the birth-narratives and the details in them.
